Yea, so I know how to give my ability a damage value and what modifiers are, however the problem I'm having is that I don't fully understand how the modifiers work yet. I'm trying to make an ability that does my unarmed damage (So strength +1) but instead make it a strength +3, that way my ability is doing unarmed +2 basically. However I don't know how to add that successfully as all I keep getting back in response is "Unidentified" whenever I go back to the character spell list on my character sheet. If I give it a base damage value then it overrides anything else I try to add to it.
The basis of the ability is basically an alternate version of Bigby's Hand made specifically for my character with some unique functionality, but I can't get the damage right. If someone could help me that'd be great.
Is it an ability or a spell? Spell’s can’t pull unarmed strike data from a character sheet, so if you just make it a damage of 3 and check the box to add spellcasting ability to the spell that’s the best you can do. Then use a feat to attach the spell to the character and designate Strength as the spellcasting ability for the spell.
However, if it’s an ability then you don’t need a spell at all, you can just make it as an Action.
